Public media plays a big role in the European media space. Almost every European country has a public media service. For most of them, the role model has always been the BBC, Great Britain’s pub- lic media service. In the last ten years, public media, just like other media, are susceptible to great changes that occurred under the e ect of digitalization, but also media globalization. Furthermore, regional public media, just like its countries, are going through a transition within which they are searching for a business model that would t local speci cs. What is the state of regional public services? What is the development strategy and the role of public media in the future? Are they doing what they’re supposed to do? Are the encouraging cultural development and creative scenes?
